Whenever I spy an insect on the ground, I try my best to avoid stepping on it. Usually I end up trying not to fall over and squishing it, and look like a crazy dancer ๐Ÿ˜€ Love the first shot, that bug is really green.

I also try to avoid stepping on bugs!! I imagine their little bug families waiting for them to get home from their journey across the sidewalk!!
I think that green bug is pretty neat…I have no idea what he is though?

So true. It’s always hard not to step on ants, though, as it’s hard to see them from our height sometimes. But ants are usually tough creatures despite their size.

No idea what that green bug is though. It’s too fat to be a praying mantis…doesn’t look like a beetle either.

I’m excited to say I found it!! Apparently it is a beetle (a very large beetle!) It’s scientific name is Plinthocoelium suaveolens ๐Ÿ™‚
The picture I found on the internet was taken in Austin Texas. About 4 hours south of here.
I was not looking for this little guy. I was on a training walk with my friends….we stopped for a break and there he was!!

You are so right! The Google pictures don’t lie…but I think your photo gives the most clarity. You have good sleuthing skills…well done. Maybe become a detective ๐Ÿ™‚

Poor bug, what it is is a bit of a mouthful to pronounce. But I bet it doesn’t mind. I guess it wanted to make friends with you, hence the random encounter. That’s how we always meet friends ๐Ÿ™‚

It is an awfully large name for such a little guy! He was very patient with his photo shoot!! Maybe he did want to be friends!! ๐Ÿ™‚
