January 1, 2015

The first day of a new year.
I posted my first blog entry on January 3rd last year. When I first decided to start a blog it was intended to be an off-shoot of my Facebook page that focuses on finding the positive side of life. Conversations Around the Tree, was going to be a place for me to comment on current events, political insanity and reasons why life really is a worthy thing to stick around for.
Instead, I tried a few photo challenges, writing challenges and suddenly my blog became a place for me to express my creative side. A place to learn from others and a place to meet really smart and creative people.
So here I am…ready for a new year. I’ve given some thought to what direction my blog will take in 2015.
First, I need to spruce it up a bit and organize it into categories.
Second, I have not remained as focused on the blog as I had hoped to. However, the fact that I made it through the first year without allowing it to fall away is an accomplishment and I’m going to build from there.
Third, I need to actively engage with other bloggers. I know if I want to extend my reach, I need to reach out to others. I also want to learn from others and to do that I must make contact with those willing to help me learn.
Fourth, I am going to start a daily photo post. Hopefully each photo will in some way relate to what has happened in my day. However, I realize there are really boring days that occur…so on those days I will simply wing it!!
Fifth and final, I plan to post more creative writing. This is something I’ve dreamed of doing…what better place than here!
To those of you that have followed my blog this year “Thank you!”
I look forward to sharing another year with you all out here in the blogging world.
Happy 2015!

Happy to have been following you the past year, Tree. It’s been great seeing how you part of the world looks, I’ve never been there before. And your short fictional stories are very much engaging, so I second your goal to post more creative writing. Happy New Year, best wishes and good luck 🙂

Thank you Mabel! I enjoy following your blog. Maybe one day we will get to visit each other’s part of the world. Until then we can visit here in the blogging world!
I have learned a lot about you and your culture and the lack of inclusion in Australia…thanks for opening my eyes to your world.

Well, as they say, the world is a small place. So you never know, one day we might meet!

Thanks, Tree, for following my blog. More posts to come soon. My break from blogging has been great but I’m looking forward to posting again soon 🙂

      Thanks!
It scares me to call them resolutions….maybe just goals.
Resolutions seem like a temporary thing that never lasts past January 15th! 🙂

I look forward to seeing more of your photos and stories.

I hadn’t given any thought to having a blogging goal for 2015. Like you, I’m just impressed that I’m still doing it a year later and didn’t get bored with it. I love the interaction I’ve had with some amazing people around the world and learned so much through them.

I did the A-Z Challenge last year in April and it really help energize me as a blogger. It was very hard work but getting to the end was deeply satisfying. I think I might have just convinced myself to go for it again 🙂

I also look forward to reading more of your posts Joanne.
I went back and looked at your A-Z challenge. This looks like a difficult but worthwhile challenge. I will watch for it to come up. Is it a Daily Post challenge?
I also enjoyed following your One Day One World posts.
Here’s to another year…I am very glad to have found you and your blog!!
      Happy New Year!

I think it is a challenge from WP daily post … I had hoped to find a link for you. I periodically get emails from them. When I see one again, I’ll send it to you. I periodically get emails from them.

The One Day, One World was soooo much fun! I really hope Lisa at Northwest Frame of Mind does the challenge again!!

I’m glad you will go on blogging! It’s interesting and fun to get to know people around the world, learning things from one another. Happy blogging this new year 2015!

I agree Leya! That is one of the best rewards about blogging…meeting people from all over and learning about the world they call home. Happy blogging to you!
