365 Days of Photos – Day 123

This is a tower that was once used by Forest Rangers. While in Eureka Springs my friend Corey and I climbed the tower.

But before we could climb to the top we first had to get inside the gate. Corey put in his 4 quarters and pushed right through the gate. I put in my 4 quarters and the gate jammed. Three Bikers were in line behind me. Each of us attempted to un-jam the quarters – Corey waited patiently.

Finally the three bikers and me decided we were not going to get through the gate and since there was no one available to help us….we would climb the fence.

Once over the fence I could take pictures of the guys climbing over.

Once over the fence the climb began.

That’s a steep climb! What a view, though. I can see how that would be beneficial to the rangers.

That staircase is so much more civilized than the ladder I climbed once to get to the top of a fire tower! It looks like it was quite the climb .. and worth the effort. I’m picturing this same view in the fall with the autumn colours in full display!

The view was surely worth it, glad I got to see it safely from my screen. That climb looks like am anxiety attack for me!

I’m glad I could provide you with a safe view!
Heights don’t bother me so no worries here. However, 2 of the guys I climbed the fence with only made it halfway before loosing their nerve.
