Draw a Bird?

I’ve been talking with Laura at Create Art Everyday. We both have a love of art and a history of not believing we could produce art. She has encouraged me to practice drawing and take time to enjoy the craft.

Earlier this week Laura told me about the “Draw a Bird Day” and suggested I give it a try. So I have!!

When she told me about “Draw a Bird Day” I happened to be eating lunch at my desk. I got out a piece of notebook paper, looked up some bird pictures on the internet and sketched two birds.

First attempt

This morning I pulled out my new sketch book and drew this little guy!

second bird

This blog has turned out to be a place where I can step out of my comfort zone and explore my creative side. And here is another step in that direction.

If you would like to know more about Draw a Bird Day just visit the link….maybe you too will try to draw a bird!

I love bird watching and if I could have one super power it would be to fly. Love your sketches – as Joanne said- you are quite talented- and that you are comfortable sharing new sides of yourself with us. πŸ™‚

I also love watching birds. I even enjoy watching grackles run around the Walmart parking lot. Flying would be awesome!!
As for the talent….you too are kind…thanks!

Yay!!!!! This is why I wanted to start this whole thing. To encourage people who don’t think they can draw. Watch this space and see how your drawings look a few months from now – a few weeks, if you draw every day. Ten minutes! And so zen. Bonus! You’re very welcome!

I really like them, especially the yellow bird. I think they are very pretty. I love coming here because you help inspire me to do more. I have on my list to do’s this weekend-take pictures of fall leaves, draw a picture, start my crewel embroidery masterpiece. πŸ˜€ Write. Something.
