I spent many hours playing on this path as a child. Last summer, while back in Ohio for a visit, my life-long friend and I visited the place of so many childhood memories. As fourth graders we had a teacher that enlisted us to help clean up the woods and collect signatures on a petition to stop proposed development. It is joyous to know 40 years later the path we ran up and down, the trees we climbed and the plants we once studied are still flourishing for other children to explore and experience.

Looks like its still being used. Its a beautiful spot.
It is still being used Jackie. It is part of the school property where I went to elementary school. Apparently the now use it as a science lab.
I hope kids from the neighborhood still play up there!
What a lovely path. So glad they were able to save it.
Me too!
That looks just beautiful and so inviting!
It is a lovely place
That is so nice to hear and glad to see these neck of the woods still standing strong. Sounds like you were adventurous as a kid. Now, did you climb up the trees here on your recent visit? 😀
LOL…..Mabel, I did not climb these trees on my visit last summer!! However, I did climb a tree (with a broad base and easy to walk up) on my 51st birthday last month!!
I am still very active and athletic….but there are limits!! 🙂
Okay…but that’s good as there was no way you could’ve taken a tumble. But I see you still have your adventurous spirit at 51 years of age, monkeying up a tree to your heart’s content. Doesn’t matter what tree it is 🙂 I’ve never climbed a tree in my life, I think I should.
I think you should too!! Adventurous is a fun way to be!!
I tried to send you a picture of me in the tree but it didn’t work….I will figure out a way and send it later!!
LOL. I would so love to see that. I look forward to it 😀
Thank you for sharing your sweet memories and the beautiful paths!
My pleasure Amy. Thank you for your kind comment!
Wonderful ground photos for this wee’s challenge. Thanks for playing.
