Our Lab-mix Sugar tore apart her kennel about a month ago. When I arrived home that day, she calmly met me at the door…as though this was the normal routine. At first I thought someone had not latched her kennel correctly…then I looked at the kennel.
I still don’t fully understand how she managed to bend the front portion of the kennel enough to squeeze herself to freedom. I especially don’t know how she did it without hurting herself.
Sugar will be 2 years old soon. She is extremely well potty trained and for the most part doesn’t chew anything but tissue paper and the occasional advertisement. So we decided we would allow her to be free in the house during the day while we are at work. Its going well…our furniture is still in one piece and no holes have appeared in the dry wall.
Now, for the photo explanation….Every morning, after all dogs have completed their business in the backyard, I tell them to go bedtime. Everyone has their place to go….well, everyone but Sugar. She still goes to the place her kennel was a month ago. She stands there for a few minutes…until she realizes it is no longer her “bedtime” space…then she casually Β walks away as though she was just messing with me!
Sugar looks miffed. Who gave these barking cats my space?!? ππ I had an escape artist dog once. She would bend the cage to get out, even upturn it to get out of the larger holes in the bottom.
We keep one cage available, even tho we really don’t use it unless someone rolls in poop and needs a temp bath holding area. If we do move it, he does go to the last location, looking lost. Too cute.
LOL!! Barking cats!
Unfortunately she destroyed the kennel beyond repair. We’ve talked about getting a replacement “just in case.” As you can see the only kennels we have left are only big enough for barking cats!! π
Such a smart and fun dog. π Reminded my Evan, he out smart every time… day 50th already! Btw, I may come to FW in April, let you know later.
The time is flying! Only 315 days to go!
Awesome about April. My schedule is pretty flexible. If you can give me a heads-up I can even hang out on a weekday if necessary.
I look forward to hearing from you.
Will let you know a week ahead of time, so we can get our camera ready for a day long shooting. π
Excellent!!
π
Amy, I sent an email yesterday (not sure if you pay attention to emails – I rarely do). Would you be interested in participating in the 5 day B&W challenge? I’m in search of people to invite!
Love to do it for you, Tree! π Not sure I can find five people to carry it on… π
Thanks Amy!
Well Day 1 I had no one and simply asked people to join me…..I have no one lined up for day 4 either and I’ll do the same. We’ll just call it poet license!!
I appreciate you joining me….I look forward to seeing your photos!
I love to see yours, Tree! π I heard that you can recommend without asking yes or no. π That might be easier. π
That sounds like a good way to go!
Hmm… Tree, how do you know how old Sugar is? I like that innocent look on her face π
We guess she will be 2years in April. Its a guess though because she was a stray that wandered up in August 2013. The Vet guessed she was about 4 months at that time.
She is precious!!
Absolutely love the term “barking cats”. Too funny. Such adorable fur babies!
Thanks…they are cuties!
If you ever heard the smallest dog in the picture cough….you would think she was a barking cat!!
