Cee’s Fun Foto Challenge: Bikes and Motorcycles

I was so excited to see this week’s challenge. It gave me the perfect excuse to do a photo shoot with my new road bike.

Sadly the weather isn’t cooperating for the bike and I to hit the road….so instead I propped it up in the snow and took pictures. Then immediately dried it off and put it safely back into the garage to wait until the warm temperatures return.

I’m in love!!! That is a cool-ass bike! Do you bike a lot? How far do you like to go? Organized rides or on your own? And the most important question: WHY DO YOU HAVE SNOW????

I see you caught up on the snow question!!
My farthest ride so far was 32 miles in an organized ride. Biking is pretty new….My goal is to ride a Century. I’ve got a ways to go….but hope to start riding seriously this spring. I am a runner with old knees that is having to convert into a bike person!
Last year I was riding a hybrid….this baby waited 3 months in lay away for me….I love this bike and can’t wait to start some serious riding! The difference (as I’m sure you know) between this and the hybrid is amazing!!
What kind of riding do you do?

I ride organized and on my own. I have done a century, but usually stick to 75 miles or lower, mostly because I also ride a hybrid! I added aero bars for added comfort, and my bike is fairly light when it’s not loaded down with stuff, but I always have it loaded! Pretty much a work horse for me. But I do love it. I am also an old runner – I didn’t start running until i was in my 40’s and it was a love/hate relationship. I love love love biking and I kept getting injured running, so biking took over. I do like to walk/hike as well. Much easier on my joints and I can’t stand not being active so I hung up my running shoes so my body will last longer.

You will do a century – way easier than a half or full marathon, I promise you! And they feed you on the way so it’s a win win!

I also started running in my (early) 40’s and by my late 40’s my knees started giving out. I’ve played sports all my life so arthritis was a given I guess!
I’ve enjoyed the organized rides I’ve done and think it is a great alternative to running. And yes…the breaks along the way on the organized rides are pretty awesome…and they do feed well!
I still do distance walking, hiking and plan to get a kayak soon!
And yes…I WILL do a century!!

A kayak! Yes – we have those too! I think we would have a lot of fun hanging out together! Does your partner also like to be active with you? Mine thinks I’m crazy with my long rides, but he will kayak and hike with me. πŸ™‚

I can’t wait to get out there in the warm weather and take a spin on my Schwinn! (She said as the ice storm continues to crust up her driveway.) 😫. Nice bike, Tree.
