My friends and I took a bike ride along the Trinity River today. Its been 4 days since we’ve had rain….but as you can tell from these pictures the effects are still being felt.
The 9th hole might be a challenge.

Had to laugh at the 9th hole being a challenge! You still have a lot of water. Backed up storm drains created a mess for shops at the oceanfront–9″ of water inside was reported by one. But nothing as serious as what you’ve all been through there.
I was surprised at how much water was still outside of its banks.

Virginia Beach, VA
It’s been many years since I’ve been to Virginia Beach. I recall it was quite beautiful
I imagine it’s changed a lot since then. We’ve been here since ’76’. Lots of change in growth and development in that time.
I played a sand volleyball tournament on Virginia Beach in 1981 (my senior year in high school). It was quite a fun weekend!!

I’m stunned by the life guard chair. If it is a typical high tower chair, that photo is so telling of the water depth!
The amount of water is really amazing. There were several places along the trail with water only inches away. Normally it is quite a distance.
There has been a lot of talk about the lakes releasing water. It was quite obvious by how fast the water was running yesterday.
