Thanks to Lady Bird Johnson and her legacy, Spring in Texas is an explosion of wildflowers. One of the first flowers to make an appearance each Spring is this little purple guy. He is so tiny….but there are few places you can go and not see him and his little purple friends filling the boulevards and lining the highways. There are millions of them all over Texas…aren’t they cute?!
Beautiful, Tree! It’s challenging to capture a tiny flower like this one. 🙂
Thank you Amy!
I hope you had a good visit with your daughter this weekend?
She was busy… I spent most of the time by myself, wish I had a chance to go Ft Worth. 😀
I wish I had known….next time I will just pick you up and we will go play with our cameras!!
That’ll be so much fun! 🙂
What lovely photography! We lived in Texas for 18 years and I was always impressed with Spring there. Dropping by from the A to Z Challenge! Are you still participating? Good luck with the rest of your 365 days of photos! Lisa, co-host AtoZ2015, @ lisabuiecollard.com
Hi Lisa! Yes I plan to participate. I will be posting my “A” picture later this afternoon.
Thank you for stopping by and commenting.
I was thinking just that – she had “a front row seat” and she used it to her full advantage. A true environmentalist. But with a name like Lady Bird how could she not be.
Great link, Tree.
Thanks Gemma!
She certainly made a huge impact on Texas and the country.
I really like that her husband considered the Beautification Act of 1965 a gift to her.
I love when they are everywhere, and it looks like a sea of purplish blue water swaying in the wind. But don’t try and pick one! Lesson learned the hard way…
Oh I am curious to hear the lesson you learned!
