I stalked this guy for quite sometime the other day. After taking many photos of him standing calmly in the water I started moving around in hopes that he would fly off and I could get some really cool photos. He didn’t fly….he walked around….but he didn’t fly!
They have got munds of their own…..
So true!
Typical. You know what they say about working with animals and children!! It particularly applies to photography!
True!
Too full for take off. .. ha ha.
Haha!!
I love herons! We had one at our pond almost every day from the end of summer thru fall last year. We serve a wonderful menu of frogs and rodents. However, I could never get a decent picture because he would either be too far away or would fly off if I opened the door to go out. We nicknamed him “Blueberry”. He hasn’t been back yet but the egrets have been. Keeping my fingers crossed for Blueberry.
Oh I hope Blueberry comes back!
I also like egrets. Both are such beautiful creatures.
Your stalking skills paid off!! Great capture 🙂
Thank you Joanne!
Beautiful! There are a few that fly from a marsh to the coast every morning here in Southern California (yeah, we have a marsh, can you believe?). Sometimes I catch them (as I walk the dog) against the sunrise, but I never see them up close. Thank you for sharing your photo.
That sounds like a beautiful image against the sunset!
I’m glad you like the photo.
