I noticed this sign “enveloped” in the tree one day this week while out for a bike ride. A few days later I learn this week’s challenge is “enveloped.” So I went for a ride this evening in search of the sign….and I found it!

Wow, that’s amazing!
Well enveloped!
What a great photo.
Thanks!
Amazing photo:)
Thanks Julia!
Great capture!
This is a trees reaction to being damaged. It’s called “CODIT” or Compartmentalization Of Decay In Trees.
When a tree is damaged, it closes off the inside wounds and begins to heal or grow over the damaged areas on the outside. I’ve seen seen some pretty odd things grown into trees!
Thanks for explaining this unusual picture. So it’s the trees way of healing itself against man’s inconsideration?
I always learn things from you 🙂
Nature is pretty tenacious!!
Wow! Unbelievable, Tree!
Thanks Stacy!
