Maggye – not a fan of snow. Of course neither am I.
Hopefully I won’t have the opportunity to take anymore snow photos…at least until next year!
Day 5 of the 5 day Black & White Challenge.
It has been an enjoyable challenge. I’d like to thank Helen from HHC for inviting me to participate. If you have not visited Helen’s blog…do yourself a favor and scoot on over to her page. You will not be sorry…her photography is wonderful and her heart is huge!
There were only two rules to follow when agreeing to participate in this challenge. The first was to post 5 different B&W photos in 5 days. The other was to invite a different photographer each day. I ran into a few road blocks but was able to invite 2 different bloggers Aletta from Nowathome and Amy at The World is a Book. And tonight I invite a third, Taylor from The Darkroom Nerd. I have recently “met” Taylor here in the blogging world. Her photography is very exciting. I like her diversity of subjects and her willingness to tell a little about what was happening when she took the photos. I encourage you all to visit Taylor’s blog as well as Aletta’s and Amy’s….you will not be disappointed!
Here is my final photo for this challenge. My precious lab-mix. Today she divided time between playing in the snow and snuggling with her moms….this is her snuggle time!
These photos were taken last Spring using my iPhone 5s,
Sugar and I were out walking when she spotted this small patch of flowers. She immediately stopped and started sniffing. Then she sat beside them and smiled. How could I not take pictures when my dog knows enough to stop and smell the flowers!!
This is my boy Freckles. He found me back in 2003.
I had just lost my dog of 12 years to cancer and made the statement I wouldn’t have another dog unless God sent one to live on my porch. About a week after losing Andi I started noticing this dog running around the neighborhood. He seemed scared of everything. He hid in bushes and ran when people approached. Then one day he ran up to me, as though he had chosen me to be his.
I petted him and fed him, but I didn’t let him in my house or give him any reason to think he had found a home. But he stayed and he attached himself to me.
At the time I was working at a day habilitation center for adults with developmental disabilities. One of my clients asked if I believed when people or animals died they came back as someone else. I asked her why and she told me she thought Andi had come back as Freckles!
I can honestly say I’m not sure what I believe when it comes to an afterlife….but it certainly seemed like Andi (maybe in cooperation with a supreme being!) had a hand (or paw!) in directing Freckles toward me. I don’t think it really matters why Freckles chose me…I’m just glad he did!!
This post was inspired by Linda Arthur Tejera at Living With My Ancestors. After viewing her submission to Michelle’s Weekly Pet Share I learned she has a cat named Freckles. Her Freckles and my Freckles look absolutely nothing alike…but they are both really cute and really special!!
They say I mess up the bed.
They say I don’t pick up after myself.
They say my hair gets on their clothes.
They also say I’m cute and they smile when I roll on the bed pillows.
They throw my toys around the house and tell me to chase them.
They hug me and snuggle me….even when they are dressed in nice clothes.
If I understood my humans….I could train them better!
