A tag line used in Austin Texas is, ‘Keep Austin Weird.” So when I read this week’s challenge from The Daily Post (Unusual) I immediately thought of some photos I took recently when I visited the south side of Austin.
Apparently someone with a unique eye has stapled stuffed animals, puzzle pieces and photos of people on telephone poles up and down a main street. And even more unusual…no one seems to mind. Its just more proof that Austin is proud of its weirdness.
Nothing like a little local place when you are seeking breakfast burritos in West Texas.
CEO’s Black and White Challenge. This week we search out Store Front Signs and share what we found.

Month four of the Changing Seasons Challenge….sponsored by Cardinal Guzman.
Nothing exciting has happened this month….but plenty of flowers are blooming.
My phlox is small.
I want my phlox to be big like my friend Corey’s phlox. I planted quite a few of these little guys 2 years ago….many of them died off. But a few survived and they come back each year 3 small patches of phlox. That’s it…3 small patches!
My friend Corey’s phlox are huge….they fill his flower beds with mounds of bright colors.
My phlox are small….I want big phlox, just like my friend Corey.
Is it wrong to covet his phlox?
The other day I was looking through my photos and noticed a couple fun photos that were taken last October when we were visiting the Dallas Arboretum.
The first picture is a picture I took of my friend Corey taking a picture of the 3 ladies that live with Tina and me. Notice the screen on his iPhone.
The second picture Tina took of me “holding” Corey in one hand!
Sometimes you just have to be silly….well for me its most of the time!
We made a quick (18 hours) out and back trip to Brownfield Texas today. It seemed like a good idea yesterday…but the last 100 miles were pretty rough.
The good news is….we never take a trip without stopping to take pictures. Here are a few of the sights from today’s journey.
These photos were taken last Spring using my iPhone 5s,
Sugar and I were out walking when she spotted this small patch of flowers. She immediately stopped and started sniffing. Then she sat beside them and smiled. How could I not take pictures when my dog knows enough to stop and smell the flowers!!
