Tina took this picture of Hershey this morning.
I thought it was pretty cute.

Have you ever driven down a familiar street and suddenly notice something that you have never noticed before?
This is certainly a strange experience…especially when the thing you notice has obviously been around a long time.
Today I was driving through a part of town that I am not terribly familiar with but I do drive through the area once or twice a week. I noticed two old brick smoke stacks that appeared to be sitting in the middle of a wooded area.
I turned off the first street that appeared to go in the right direction then turned several more times before pulling down a dead end street and finding myself within 100 yards of an old abandoned factory.
I always feel an urge to explore places like this and at some point I may go back and snoop around a bit. But as for today I had to get back to work. So I took a few photos and found my way back to the main street.

Wind Turbines, West Texas

There is a small lake near Tina’s Dad’s house in west Texas. Apparently it is quite popular to Canadians…well Canadian geese.
We stopped by the lake before leaving Brownfield Friday. It is hard to describe the massive number of Canadian geese hanging out at this lake. It is not a big lake. Its a small lake in the middle of a small town.

I do not know much about Canadian geese but it appeared they were hanging out in cliques. Large groups would fly off while other groups watched from the shore.

A short time later, another group would fly off.
The few ducks hanging out at the lake appeared a bit out of place.
I met this cute young lady at the parade last night…
The community I live in had their annual Christmas parade this evening. I joined the local bike shop, decorated my bike and rode in the parade.
Did anyone else notice the skip from day 332 to 338?
If not…please just skip ahead to today’s photo…nothing to see here.
If you did…I don’t know what happened! Some how over the last 338 days I lost track of the days. I suspect it was during my vacation last August when I was off the grid for a week and had to do some major catching up. However, I have no desire to go back and look into it. I really don’t! 😉 So lets move onto today’s photo….
We made a quick trip to west Texas (30 hour round trip) to visit Tina’s aunt, uncle and dad. We never seem to have as much time as we would like to spend with the family…but we always enjoy getting to see them even if only for a short time.
It is cotton picking season out west. Miles and miles of cotton fields. I couldn’t resist stopping for a few pictures.

Recently I was telling Joanne from My Life Lived Full about our new moose nativity and moose decorations for Christmas….
Since I couldn’t explain how absolutely precious a baby-moose-Jesus is I decided to post a few pictures.
The wise – moose have their gifts and the shepherd-moose has his little sheep (isn’t he cute?) I’m just not sure why there isn’t an angel-moose.

Doesn’t that look like a proud daddy-moose?
Low water crossing – Trinity River

I just thought it looked cool.
The leaves are still hanging onto the branches. Tomorrow it will be December, Christmas is 25 days away….and the leaves are still on the trees.
Seasons run a bit odd here in Texas….due to the warmer temperatures. Sometimes you just have to decorate for the holidays and trust the calendar is right.
